A compact, spiny, aromatic, semi-evergreen shrub from the arid habitats of southern Africa (Socotra and the Arabian Peninsula) with small, leathery, dark green leaves on stiff, spreading branches and small, yellow, 5-petalled flowers followed by aromatic, oil-rich fruits. A rare and unusual Thamnosma for a hot, sunny, very well-drained border or desert-style glasshouse.
