About
A rare, deciduous small tree to about 10m from the Ryukyu Islands of Japan, with unlobed or shallowly three- to five-lobed (morifolium, mulberry-leafed), leathery, dark green leaves turning golden-yellow with red tints in autumn and small, yellowish-green flowers in spring followed by winged, brown samara fruits. A choice ornamental maple for a sheltered, mild garden.
