About
Many small, scented white flowers with conspicuous stamens are produced in summer and followed by rounded, purple berries. An evergreen shrub or small tree eventually reaching up to 20m high with smooth, cinnamon-coloured bark in its native habitat, but in cultivation generally forming a broad, dense shrub to around 5m tall. The dark green leaves are leathery, aromatic and elliptic to oblong, up to 8cm in length.
