About

The small, tubular, pinky-white flowers are produced in clusters at the top of tall stems in late summer. A rhizomatous perennial which can reach 1.2m in flower. The leaves emerge in spring like a closed umbrella covered in silky hairs, then open out into a circular shape with deep, jagged divisions, reaching about 60cm tall and across.

About the genus

Syneilesis are a genus of tough perennials, grown for their attractive palm-like foliage. Tall thin flower stalks produce fairly insignificant flower clusters.
