A herbaceous perennial 35-50cm high with evergreen rosettes of elliptic to lance-shaped, mid-green basal leaves up to 20cm long, smaller stem leaves, and flowerheads, up to 10cm across, with blue-purple ray-florets and disc-florets, from midsummer to early autumn.
