About
A compact, mat-forming, evergreen perennial acantholimon to about 15cm tall from stony, dry habitats of Turkey and the Caucasus (Armenian highlands), with dense cushions of tiny, needle-like, mid-green leaves and short, stiff spikes of small, funnel-shaped, deep pink flowers in summer. A neat and rewarding plant for a sunny, sharply-drained rock garden or raised bed.

Sorbus can be deciduous trees or shrubs with simple or pinnate leaves and clusters of small white or pink flowers, followed by white, yellow, pink, red or brown berries; some have fine autumn colour
