About
Sorbus domestica, the service tree, is a deciduous tree to 20 m with a domed, open crown producing pinnate leaves of 13�21 dark yellowish-green, partly serrated leaflets turning orange-red or yellow in autumn, greyish-cream flower clusters in early summer and apple- or pear-shaped, green-to-brownish-red fruits in late summer and autumn. A rewarding, handsome and historically valued ornamental tree for a large, sunny, well-drained garden.

Sorbus, the mountain ashes, rowans and whitebeams, are deciduous trees or shrubs producing simple or pinnate leaves and clusters of small, white or pink flowers followed by white, yellow, pink, red or brown berries; many provide excellent autumn colour. Rewarding and ornamental trees and shrubs for a sunny, well-drained garden.
