This compact, evergreen shrub with slightly aromatic, leathery leaves. Small, perfumed, creamy-white flowers are produced in dense, conical clusters in spring, followed by red berries in autumn which often remain until the following spring.

Care notes
CultivationGrow in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in shade. Full sun may be tolerated when planted in damp soil. Also tolerant of atmospheric pollution and neglect. May become chlorotic on poor, dry soil or if over-exposed to sun.
