Scilla scilloides, the Chinese squill, is a slender, bulbous perennial to 20 cm with narrow, floppy leaves and many-flowered racemes of starry, purplish-pink flowers 4 mm wide opening in late summer and early autumn. A rewarding and ornamental late-season bulb for a sunny, well-drained border.
