Saxifraga ferdinandi-coburgi, the Ferdinand saxifrage, is a dense, cushion-forming evergreen perennial to 10 cm with encrusted, grey leaves. Reddish stems bear 1�3 bright-yellow flowers opening from red buds in early spring. A striking and rewarding Kabschia saxifrage for a sunny, very well-drained rock garden or alpine house.
