A compact, tufted perennial phlox to about 30cm tall from subalpine meadows of the Rocky Mountains, with narrow, glandular-hairy, mid-green leaves and loose clusters of small, funnel-shaped, pale lavender-blue to white flowers in early summer. A choice rock garden plant for moist, well-drained, acidic conditions in a cool, sunny position.
