About

A very tall, strong evergreen, rhizomatous perennial with rosettes of modified leaf stems called 'phyllodes' which function as insect-catching tubular pitchers with hooded lids. Flowers are yellowish-green with drooping petals and an unpleasant smell, emerging from the top of the stalks in spring. These strong pitchers, larger than other varieties, are a solid pale green, with a dark purple patch on the throat.
