An upright, rhizomatous perennial houseplant to 1m, with spear-like, stiffly fleshy green leaves with a faint stripey appearance. The spears can even be plaited for a neat, architectural effect!. Mature plants may rarely produce spikes of aromatic, spidery, greenish-white flowers.
