A wild species rhododendron with recurved (recurviflorum) flowers in which the petals fold back, forming a medium-sized, compact, evergreen shrub with elliptic, dark green leaves and clusters of funnel-shaped, white to pale lilac flowers with reflexed petal tips in spring. A distinctive and unusual wild rhododendron for a sheltered woodland garden.
