About

A naturally occurring hybrid between the whortle willow and the net-leaved willow, forming a very dwarf, spreading, deciduous shrublet with small, rounded, prominently veined leaves and small, silvery catkins in spring. An exquisite, rare miniature for a cool, moist, well-drained rock garden.

About the genus

Salix are deciduous shrubs and trees of diverse habit, with simple leaves and tiny flowers in catkins, male and female usually on separate plants. Some are valued for their brightly coloured winter shoots, others for their foliage or showy male catkins
