A perennial Adenophora from mountain meadows of eastern Asia with erect stems to about 60cm bearing ovate to lance-shaped, mid-green leaves and drooping, tubular to bell-shaped, violet-blue flowers in long terminal racemes in midsummer. A graceful and ornamental perennial for a sunny or lightly shaded, well-drained border.

About the genus

Rosa can be deciduous or semi-evergreen shrubs or scrambling climbers, with usually thorny stems bearing compound pinnate leaves and solitary or clustered flowers. Flowers may be followed by showy red or purple fruits in some varieties.
