About

A compact, rosette-forming, deciduous perennial from the high mountains of New Zealand's South Island with deeply divided, ferny, silvery-green leaves in spreading rosettes and large, solitary, bright white, saucer-shaped flowers with prominent golden stamens in summer. A choice and spectacular alpine for cool, moist, well-drained, acidic conditions in a rock garden or alpine house.

About the genus

Riccardia are plant genus within the Liverwort family with around 200 species. Dark green and delicate, they form compact cushions by clinging to rocks or wood.
