A cultivar of the hybrid B. _stenophylla (B. darwinii _ B. empetrifolia), forming a dense, arching, evergreen shrub with small, narrow, dark green leaves and profuse, pendulous clusters of brilliant orange-yellow flowers in spring, followed by small, dark purple berries. 'Brilliant' is a particularly free-flowering and ornamental selection.
