A compact, cushion- or rosette-forming Saxifraga with silvery-encrusted, spiny-tipped, grey-green leaves arranged in neat rosettes and erect, wiry stems bearing loose panicles of small, white to cream, star-shaped flowers in late spring and early summer. A choice, silver-section saxifrage for a sunny, well-drained rock garden or alpine trough.
