About the genus

Rhododendron comprises both evergreen and deciduous shrubs or trees. The leaves are simple and may feature a thick, colorful layer of hairs on their undersides. Flowers can be funnel-shaped, bell-shaped, or tubular, appearing either individually or in short clusters.
