About
A semi-evergreen tree up to 13m tall with red-brown branchlets bearingoval to elliptic leaves up to 10cm long. Clusters of white, bell-shaped flowers are borne in spring and followed by hanging, cylindrical, ribbed, reddish-brown fruits with small brown spots up to 11cm long.
About the genus
A genus of five species of deciduous or semi-evergreen trees, native to southeastern Asia and southwestern China. They have dark green oval or oblong-shaped foliage and frangrant, cup-shaped, pendant creamy-white flowers which appear prior to the foliage in the spring. Ribbed red fruits follow
