About

Ravenala madagascariensis, the traveller's palm, is a spectacular, banana-like plant from Madagascar developing a tall trunk to 10 m or more bearing a two-dimensional, fan-like crown of enormous, paddle-shaped leaves. The leaf bases form cups that collect water � the origin of the traveller's name. A dramatic and iconic plant for a large, heated greenhouse or tropical garden.

CultivationUnder glass grow in peat-free, loam-based compost, in a large container or greenhouse bed, in full light with shade from hot sun. During growth, water freely and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly. Water sparingly in winter
