About

A compact, spreading, evergreen sub-shrub to about 50cm from Mediterranean dry, rocky habitats with aromatic, ovate, hairy, mid-green leaves and terminal or axillary clusters of tubular, two-lipped flowers, the upper lip and lower lip in contrasting colours (bicolor), in summer. A choice and ornamental rock garden or dry wall plant for a hot, sunny, well-drained position.

About the genus

Quinchamalium includes herbaceous and sometimes woody species grown for their ornamental merit. The genus is represented in gardens by selected species and cultivars suited to a range of growing conditions
