A compact, semi-evergreen sub-shrub to about 1m tall from California with sticky (viscifolia), leathery, dark green leaves and short racemes of small, white, urn-shaped flowers, followed by small, dark red berries. A choice and unusual Californian manzanita for a warm, sunny, very well-drained border in mild climates.
