About
Pseudolarix amabilis, the golden larch, is a slow-growing, medium-sized, broadly conical, deciduous tree producing whorls of light-green, linear leaves 5 cm long that turn brilliant golden-yellow in autumn. Green cones to 5 cm ripen to red-brown and break up on the tree. A beautiful and ornamental conifer for a well-drained, sunny garden.
About the genus
Pseudolarix are deciduous, conical trees, later more spreading, with soft, needle-like leaves colouring brilliantly in autumn and ovoid cones that break up on the tree to release the seeds. Grown as ornamental specimen conifers.
