About
Primula juliae (Pr), Julia's primrose, is a rosette-forming, compact, semi-evergreen perennial to around 10 cm with dark-green foliage and clusters of purple flowers, flushed with dark red, in spring. One of the parent species of the popular 'Juliana' hybrids � a charming and rewarding primula for a cool, moist, semi-shaded position.
About the genus
Primula are herbaceous or semi-evergreen perennials forming basal rosettes of simple leaves, with salver-shaped or bell-shaped flowers borne singly or in umbels or whorls on upright stems. A vast genus ranging from tiny alpines to large candelabra and Asiatic border plants.
