A subspecies of Lamium eriocephalum from rocky, dry habitats in the Caucasus and Turkey, with ovate, toothed, mid-green leaves and whorls of two-lipped, pale pink to purplish flowers clustered into dense, woolly-headed (eriocephalum) spikes in summer. A distinctive and little-cultivated dead nettle for a sharply-drained, sunny border or rock garden.
