A very compact, cushion-forming, evergreen subshrub to about 10cm from the Rocky Mountains with tiny, densely-packed, broadly oval, bright green leaves and very short racemes of small, tubular, bright blue-violet flowers in late spring. A neat and choice miniature penstemon for a sunny, very well-drained rock garden or alpine house.
