About

Neoregelia spectabilis, the painted fingernail, is an evergreen bromeliad producing a rosette of leathery, strap-shaped, dull-green leaves to 45 cm long, each tipped with bright red, and with inner leaves flushed red. Blue flowers emerge from purple-banded, green bracts at the centre of the rosette. An ornamental and distinctive bromeliad for a warm, humid conservatory or greenhouse.
