About
A vigorous, spreading, deciduous shrub to about 3m tall from China, with arching, grey-stemmed branches bearing linear, aromatic, silver-grey leaves and dense, terminal and axillary spikes of small, blue-purple flowers in late summer and autumn. A handsome, drought-tolerant shrub for a sunny, well-drained border where its late-season colour is especially valuable.

Musa are suckering evergreen perennials with very large, paddle-shaped leaves whose stalk-bases form a false stem, and clusters of tubular flowers with colourful bracts, followed by cylindrical fruits
