Monstera deliciosa, the Swiss cheese plant, is a vigorous, root-climbing, evergreen plant producing large, heart-shaped, deeply split and perforated, glossy, dark-green leaves to 90 cm across. On mature plants, creamy-white, arum-like flowers may be followed by edible, pineapple-like fruits. One of the most popular and architectural of all houseplants for a bright, warm, humid position.
