About

A compact, mat-forming, evergreen subshrub to about 15cm tall from Spain and Portugal with small, narrow, slightly hairy, mid-green leaves and dense, flat-topped racemes of small, white, 4-petalled flowers in spring. A neat and floriferous candytuft for a sunny, very well-drained rock garden or raised bed.

About the genus

Monardella includes herbaceous and sometimes woody species grown for their ornamental merit. The genus is represented in gardens by selected species and cultivars suited to a range of growing conditions
