Medinilla magnifica, the rose grape, is an upright, epiphytic shrub producing leathery, broadly oval, pale-veined, deep-green leaves and spectacular, pendant panicles of rose-pink flowers surrounded by large, pale-pink bracts in spring and summer. One of the most flamboyant of all conservatory shrubs � a statement plant for a warm, humid, sheltered greenhouse.

Care notes
CultivationGrow under glass in peat-free, loam-based potting compost in bright filtered light, or full light with shade from hot sun. Provide high humidity by placing on an upturned saucer in a tray with moist gravel. Water moderately in growth and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly. Water sparingly in winter.
