About
An early-season, cooking apple, conical in shape with ribbed sides. Fruit is ready to pick late summer and keeps until mid-autumn. The yellow skin is flushed on the sunny side with orange-red, and the pale yellow flesh is firm and juicy with a sweet-sharp flavour. A very hardy, spreading tree producing heavy crops but tending to biennial bear; requires a pollinator from group 1, 2 or 3.

Care notes
CultivationPrefers a deep, fertile, moist but well-drained, neutral soil in a sheltered, sunny position. Will not thrive on very acid soils, shallow chalk soils or with shade for more than half the day. May require fruit thinning to improve fruit size and quality. See Apple cultivation
