About
Small, violet-purple flowers in dense, upright spikes to 30cm are produced in late summer and early autumn, followed by black berries. 'Okina' is an evergreen, tuberous perennial forming a dense clump of narrow, arching, leathery leaves. These emerge almost pure white in spring, taking on green stripes and mottles through summer, becoming dark green by autumn.
