About
Lilium regale, the regal lily, is a vigorous bulbous perennial to 2 m with narrow, glossy-green leaves and racemes of aromatic, trumpet-shaped, white flowers to 14 cm long, yellow in the centre and flushed with purple on the outside, in midsummer. One of the most beautiful and widely grown of all species lilies, thriving in most sunny, well-drained soils.

Lilium are bulbous perennials producing erect, often tall stems bearing whorled or scattered leaves and terminal racemes or umbels of bowl-shaped, trumpet-shaped, funnel-shaped or turk's cap flowers, often fragrant, in white, yellow, orange or red tones.
