A compact, bushy, deciduous female Skimmia to about 40cm tall from Japan with aromatic, dark green, narrowly elliptic leaves and dense panicles of small, pale yellow-white flowers in spring, followed (when pollinated by a male plant) by masses of shiny, bright red berries persisting through winter. A handsome and reliable fruiting Skimmia for a shaded or partially shaded border.
