A compact, mat-forming evergreen succulent producing tight, dark red rosettes of fleshy leaves which are vivid green at the base, and fine white hairs along the leaf margins. Bell-shaped pale yellow flowers appear in the summer.

Jovibarba are rosette-forming perennial succulents. They are mainly grown for their architectural and colourful foliage, but they may also produce pale greenish-yellow or yellow bell-shaped flowers.
