Jamesia americana, the cliffbush, is a bushy deciduous shrub to 2 m with coarsely toothed, ovate leaves to 8 cm long that are densely hairy beneath. Slightly fragrant, white flowers 1 cm wide in panicles to 6 cm long are produced in late spring. An ornamental and reliable flowering shrub for a sunny, well-drained border.
