About
Owyhee Desert' is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial, up to 90cm high, with glaucous leaves and strongly-scented, ruffled flowers in early summer. Flowers have white standards while the white falls are bordered with pale yellow, edged in white, washed with chocolate brown and stippled with violet; beards are white and yellow.

Care notes
CultivationPlant in full sun in well-drained soil, and with the top surfaces of the rhizomes exposed so that they get baked in summer sun, which encourages flowering. See bearded iris cultivation
PruningCut down old flower stems after flowering, and remove any dying foliage in autumn
