A primula of the calliantha group (Cy = Cyanea, a subsection of Primula), forming a rosette of broadly spatula-shaped, mid-green, mealy leaves and erect scapes bearing umbels of salver-shaped, deep violet to purple-blue flowers with a white or yellow eye in spring. A choice, mountain primula for a moist, cool, shaded alpine house or peat garden.
