A wiry-stemmed, spreading, deciduous climber from eastern Asia with finely divided, mid-green leaves and masses of small, creamy-white, fragrant flowers in summer, followed by silvery-grey, feathery seedheads in autumn. A graceful, free-flowering climber for covering trellis or fences, with attractive long-lasting seedheads.
About the genus
Incarvillea are annuals or perennials grown for their tubular, trumpet-shaped flowers. Some species are suited to rock gardens whilst others can be grown in a mixed, herbaceous border.
