About
Very vigorous, sturdy evergreen tree about 14m tall, with dark purple stems bearing large, glossy, very dark green rounded or oval leaves to 8cm long, some very spiny and other with few spines. Small white flowers are produced in late spring. Makes a fine large specimen tree.
