About

Hypericum stellatum is an evergreen shrub to 1 m with arching stems bearing opposite pairs of leaves with red-tinted new growth. In summer, cup-shaped, yellow flowers are produced at the stem tips; after the petals fall, the pointed, red-tinted sepals remain, framing the developing seed capsules in a highly ornamental display. A beautiful and distinctive St John's wort for a sheltered, sunny border.
