A low, spreading, mat-forming, evergreen perennial to about 5cm tall from high-altitude habitats in New Zealand with small, ovate, mid-green, leathery leaves and small, solitary, white flowers in spring, followed by small, red berries. A choice ground-cover for a cool, moist, shaded, woodland rock garden.
