About
Hippocrepis comosa, horseshoe vetch, is a vigorous, creeping, woody-based perennial about 40 cm tall with mid-green, pinnate leaves to 10 cm long and heads of up to 12 lemon-yellow, pea-like flowers from late spring to late summer. An important nectar plant for butterflies, especially the chalkhill and Adonis blues, and excellent for a sunny chalk or limestone bank.
