Hibiscus syriacus, the rose of Sharon or shrubby mallow, is a hardy, upright deciduous shrub to 3 m producing an abundance of large, showy, mallow-shaped flowers in shades of pink, violet, white or red-purple from late summer into autumn. One of the best large, late-flowering hardy shrubs for a sunny, sheltered position.
