About
Heuchera micrantha, the small-leaved alum root, is a clump-forming perennial producing fine, airy sprays of tiny white or pink flowers held high above the foliage in late spring and early summer. The mound of lobed, toothed, hairy leaves is quite variable green, reddish or purple giving multi-season appeal. A popular and ornamental heuchera for a shaded border.
About the genus
Heuchera are evergreen or semi-evergreen, clump-forming perennials with rounded, palmately lobed leaves and wiry-stemmed racemes or panicles of small, tubular flowers in summer. Popular as much for their ornamental foliage as their flowers, they excel as ground cover in shaded borders.
