About

Heuchera cylindrica, the roundleaf alum root, is an evergreen perennial forming low, dense mounds of oval to heart-shaped, scallop-edged leaves to 6 cm across. In late spring and summer, small, yellow-green to creamy-white flowers are borne in tight clusters on upright stems to 80 cm. A bold and reliable heuchera for a partly shaded border.

About the genus

Heuchera are evergreen or semi-evergreen, clump-forming perennials with rounded, palmately lobed leaves and wiry-stemmed racemes or panicles of small, tubular flowers in summer. Popular as much for their ornamental foliage as their flowers, they excel as ground cover in shaded borders.
