This palm species, known as Sabal palmetto, is characterized by its gradual growth and single-trunk formation, reaching heights of up to 30 meters in its native warm temperate regions of the United States. It features dense, spherical clusters of fan-shaped leaves that can extend to 2 meters in length. While it can survive in sheltered locations, it is generally more suited for cultivation in a cool greenhouse or conservatory in less favorable climates.
